Chrismons are designed from ancient sketches made by early Christians who used the Chrismons to identify themselves to one another and to transmit their faith and beliefs. In years past, people of this congregation sewed thousands of individual sequins by hand on the Chrismon ornaments; each is covered in white or gold sequins or a combination of the two colors. White denotes purity, innocence and the perfection of Christ. Gold is a symbol of the glory and majesty of God and the son of God.
