What people say and like about Stockton United Methodist Church:

“The Stockton United Methodist Church has been a very important part of our lives. We both grew up in the SUMC, Sunday school, United Methodist Youth Fellowship, church camp, choir and so forth. Both our parents were very active in the church. We always told our children that on Sunday it was church FIRST, then, go to the lake or other activities. We have received so many blessings from the church—friendships, support, fellowship and love. Our church and our family are the greatest blessings of our lives.”

―Dwain and Donna Hammons

“While vacationing in the early 1990s, we camped and fished a lot in the (Stockton) State Park area. While visiting, we worshiped at Stockton UMC. We found a friendly church family that welcomed us immediately. As the years passed and we spent more vacation time in the area, we realized our future was here, especially with the warm, loving, caring congregation. What a blessing this church has been to us!”

―Bob and Ruth Ballenger

“The Stockton United Methodist Church is a connected, caring community of Christian people, serving God, the community and church members. Being a part of such a church means feeling the closeness of God and always having someone support us in times of need and joy. Love abounds and is visible in the friendship of the church.”

―Newell and Sherlene Netsch

Perhaps the late Don Hinkel said it best of all from his sickbed in St. John’s Hospital at Springfield as he talked to the hospital chaplain: “At Stockton United Methodist Church I hear about the ways I can get to Heaven, not about the ways I’m going to Hell.” We lost Don; Heaven gained.
