Safe Sanctuaries
Jesus calls us to welcome the little children—and we do! Assuring the safety of children in our care is a sacred duty. We commit to protect children in our care, to provide them safe sanctuaries. We screen and monitor those directly involved in the care of our children and youth. We train the congregation and its leaders on the reality of child abuse, risk factors leading to child abuse and prevention strategies. Safety procedures require two or more non-related adults present in classrooms and activities when a child is present and interior windows in all classrooms.
Nursery
Located a few steps from the sanctuary and close to three adult Sunday school classrooms, our nursery (infants-age 5):
- Allows parents freedom to worship and participate in church activities without childcare responsibilities
- Helps children build positive feelings about being in church
- Provides children with the feeling of love and security
Children and Youth
Sunday mornings, children (grades K-3) and youth (grades 4-12) attend Sunday School. Sunday evenings, youth (grades 5-12) participate in United Methodist Youth Fellowship activities.
Children (grades K-5) look forward to our annual Vacation Bible School in July.
